dieter vieweger is director general of the german protestant institute of archaeology in jerusalem and amman (DEI), professor at the church university of wuppertal, director of the biblical archaeological institute at wuppertal, visiting professor at the private university of witten-herdecke, and director of a number of archaeological research projects conducted in jordan, israel and palestine.
